Careers at AZPI

Join a team that treats you like a person, not a productivity number.

A clinic built for the people who work here, not just the patients who walk in. Family-owned, Mesa-based, one-on-one from day one.

Why work here

We built this clinic to be different, on purpose, not by accident.

01

Half days every Friday

We close early every Friday so you actually get your weekend started early. This isn't a 'when we can swing it' thing, it's the standard.

02

True 1-on-1 care

No double-booking, no productivity-quota gymnastics.

03

One roof, one team

Sports performance, group fitness, and pelvic floor programs all under one roof, so you're never working in isolation.

04

Motivated patients

Our patients are active and want to get better faster, not drag out their care. That makes for genuinely rewarding work.

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist
Full-Time · Mesa, AZ
Apply for this role

We're growing our pelvic floor program and looking for a PT who wants to do deep, meaningful work without the burnout that usually comes with it.

What you'll do

  • Provide 1-on-1 pelvic floor PT evaluations and treatment with full autonomy over your plan of care
  • Treat a mix of pelvic floor and general orthopedic caseload, ratio based on your interest and experience
  • Build your caseload in a clinic that already has referral relationships and demand in place
  • Collaborate with our sports and ortho team when cases overlap

What we're looking for

  • DPT with pelvic floor certification or specialized training (APTA, Herman & Wallace, or equivalent)
  • Comfortable treating pregnancy/postpartum, pelvic pain, and general pelvic floor dysfunction
  • Someone who wants to build a program, not just fill a schedule
  • AZ PT license (or eligible)

What we offer

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Generous PTO
  • Mentorship from an experienced ortho/sports team
  • Room to shape the pelvic floor program as your own
  • An active, motivated patient population, not a churn-and-burn caseload
  • A clinic culture built to prevent burnout, with more fun built in than your average PT job
Orthopedic Physical Therapist (Sports Background)
Full-Time · Mesa, AZ
Apply for this role

We're looking for an ortho PT with a sports background to help our athletes get back to what they love, stronger than before.

What you'll do

  • Provide 1-on-1 orthopedic PT evaluations and treatment with full autonomy over your plan of care
  • Treat a general ortho caseload with an emphasis on athletes and active adults, post-op, sports injuries, return-to-play
  • Work alongside our sports performance and group fitness programs when cases call for it
  • Build real relationships with your patients over a full course of care, not just a few visits

What we're looking for

  • DPT with a strong ortho foundation and genuine interest or experience in sports rehab
  • Comfortable managing return-to-sport progressions across youth to adult populations
  • Someone who wants to build long-term patient relationships, not churn through visits
  • AZ PT license (or eligible)

What we offer

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Generous PTO
  • True 1-on-1 patient care
  • Sports performance, group fitness, and pelvic floor programs under one roof
  • Access to turf space and equipment for return-to-sport work
  • A patient base that's active and driven to get back to it fast
Personal Trainer / Group Class Coach
Full-Time / Part-Time · Mesa, AZ
Apply for this role

We're looking for a personal trainer who wants a real caseload of 1-on-1 clients, with room to step into coaching our small group classes when the schedule calls for it.

What you'll do

  • Build and coach a 1-on-1 personal training client base with individualized programming
  • Step into Build & Burn, Hybrid Performance, or HYROX Performance small group classes as needed
  • Work in a space with PTs on-site, giving you a built-in referral pipeline and a team to lean on for anything outside your scope
  • Help clients train around injuries, past PT care, or performance goals with real context on their history

What we're looking for

  • Nationally accredited personal training certification (NASM, ACE, NSCA, or equivalent)
  • Comfortable coaching both 1-on-1 sessions and small group class formats
  • Genuine interest in strength training, conditioning, and athletic performance, HYROX or hybrid training experience a plus
  • Someone who wants to grow with a program, not just clock in for sessions

What we offer

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Generous PTO
  • A built-in client base and referral pipeline from our PT and sports performance programs
  • Pay equity across our team, no exceptions
  • Access to turf space, full equipment, and a team environment instead of working in isolation
  • Room to grow into more group coaching hours as our class program expands

Carlos, Julie, Christine and the entire team are awesome. I came in on crutches barely able to put weight on a hard to heal foot, toe and knee injury. Within weeks I was weight bearing and within two months, not only healed, but back training for my January marathon. Not only are they great at their craft, but they are even better people.

Finding Arizona Performance Institute was truly a blessing. Suffering from pelvic floor dysfunction can feel isolating and overwhelming, but I never felt alone there. Christine Carlson, the Front Office Manager, is so kind and helpful. From the very beginning, she made scheduling easy and was always available to answer any questions I had about my care. Dr. Julie Cortina is incredible. Her extensive knowledge of pelvic floor dysfunction, along with her compassion and encouragement, helped me heal and feel like myself again. She empowered me with so much information and supported me every step of the way. I truly enjoyed my PT sessions with Julie and am so grateful for her guidance throughout my recovery. I also had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Caitlin Whitaker, who is equally caring and very knowledgeable in treating pelvic floor dysfunction. She listened carefully and shared helpful resources to guide me in my recovery. Thank you to the entire team at AZPI for helping me get better when I wasn’t sure that was even possible. I am forever grateful.

Arizona Performance Institute did a wonderful job with my teenage son. We originally started physical therapy, but later ended up going to a doctor for X-rays and an MRI, which confirmed it was a bone bruise. Throughout the process, their team was kind, knowledgeable, and personable. They truly care about their patients and took the time to make sure my son was progressing safely. We really appreciated their support and would highly recommend them.

My appointments were always on time and focused specifically on my identified need. The staff was always friendly and professional . I felt that I learned coping mechanisms even immediately to help me with my issues. The exercises I was given by Caitlin were in the app by the evening if the appointment and I was able to know that I was doing them correctly at home during the week. As I moved through the process, I had questions from my own outside research and they were always answered thoughtfully and fully, which further enhanced my learning. Now that I’ve completed my therapy, the exercises remain available to me through the app. I would definitely call here first with any future physical therapy needs.

I’ve been working with Brady for hypermobility and Julie for pelvic floor therapy, and they have been absolutely incredible. I truly appreciate the one-on-one care, it makes such a difference to work with PTs who really know me and understand the nuances of what I’m dealing with. Over the past 7+ months, they’ve been patient, encouraging, and consistent. Hypermobility isn’t a quick fix, and they’ve helped me learn how to listen to my body, build strength safely, and push myself without overdoing it. I actually look forward to coming to PT, which says a lot! I’ve also briefly worked with Caitlin and Carlos, and they’re equally wonderful. The whole clinic has such a supportive, positive environment. And shoutout to Christine for being incredibly helpful and kind, she makes everything on the admin side so much easier. I’m very grateful for this team and can’t recommend AZPI enough!
